Note:
I didn't take pics of the first few days of work on this regiment. If you'd like to see how they start
out, check out the Iron Guts Regiment 2 Construction Page and the
Butcher Construction Page.

Day 5
They've been rough assembled, built up with Apoxie-Sculpt, and the leg plates have been started.
|
|
Day 6 ~ 8
The armor plates have been worked on quite a bit, both on the legs and the chests.
The first head has been added.
|
|
|
Day 9 ~ 10
All heads are added, and shoes have been begun. Another chest plate was added. The Apoxie-Sculpt was cleaned up
on the lower legs to prepare for detail work. Groin area was sculpted in.
|
|
Day 11 ~ 13
All the chest plates have been added, more shoe work has been done,
|
|
Day 14 ~ 15
Shoe bottoms were completed.
|
|
Day 16 ~ 18
Shoe tops were finished.
|
|
Day 19 ~ 20
Puffy pants have been begun, as have lower legging on some models.
|
|
Day 21 ~ 24
More puffy pants, knees, knee wraps, and so on.
|
|
Day 25 ~ 27
Even more puffy pants, left knee armor plates, straps for the armor plates.
|
|
Day 28 ~ 31
Pants are getting close.
|
|
Day 31 ~ 38
A ton of pant work has been done. Arms went on as well. You'll notice the arms have been extended a bit
to match the lengthened legs. They're really coming along now!
The 2nd guy from the right is going to be
a musician, he'll be banging on a drum. That explains his weird arms/pose.

Day 39 ~ 52
First One Done!
I decided to concentrate on just one guy, in order to see some results. I have worked on this fella
every day, for between 20 minutes to about an hour. Here are the steps that led to his completion.
- Sculpted the back armor plate. Took about 40 minutes. It was sculpted to match the breast plate.
- Added straps to attach the back plate to the front plate. They are over the shoulders, and on the sides.
This took about half an hour.
- Gave him a collar, to give the top of the armor plates a nice finished look. Took 15 minutes.
- Worked on the puffy sleeves for the arms. This took 6 days, about 30 minutes per day.
- Sculpted the mustache and soul-patch on his face.
- Built a custom sword from plasticard. Then green-stuffed it over the next 4 days. All told, this
sword took almost two hours to make.
- Sculpted the back of the head to be smooth, and to flow with the collar.

Day 53 ~ 79
The second fella is done. Care for some music?
Once again, I've decided to focus on just one model. Pretty much the same as the first guy I finished.
It took 15 to 30 minutes a day, then it was time to wait for the putty to dry. The drum he's bangin' is the
second one I made for him. The first was completely custom, all putty and plasticard. After that one
didn't turn out as well as I'd have liked, I rebuilt this one using a wooden thread spool I bought at
the craft store. Much nicer results.
The steps are essentially the same as they were for the first guy. A few more to go before there's a full
regiment of them!
