Model Bases

Here's the bases for the rest of the ogres in the army. 27 total, that should be plenty! Eventually I'll get the 'gnoblars' going.

To make the bases, I used Apoxie-Sculpt and cork. The Apoxie-Sculpt was rolled out in sheets between wax paper, using a rolling pin. I made some thick, and some some thin. Once they were dry, I peeled away the wax paper, and used plyers to break the pieces down into usable chunks. Using super glue, and freshly mixed Apoxie-Sculpt, I built the bases in whatever way seemed interesting at the time. The cork was attached last, super glued into the still pliable Apoxie-Sculpt, or right to the base itself.

I also magnetized all the bases, and made a carrying case for the army.

The Brutish Horde!

27 Ogres built. See the skeleton shots, and the fleshed out one. This took about 4 weeks in total, working maybe an hour a day on average. Talk about some monotonous stuff! I did it all one step at a time:
  1. Remove all bodies from the sprues.
  2. Scrape all mold lines off.
  3. Cut all legs up with clippers.
  4. Cut up enough sprues to make proper legs.
  5. Attach them to the base by building legs with sprue bits, green stuff, and super glue.
  6. Fill out legs and bellies with Apoxie Sculpt. Repair any breaks along the way.
That's the gist of it. Glad that is done!

Dogs & Hounds

These are a teaser for some of the other things that will be going into this army. Stay tuned.
